Of the many books that come to my mind when I think of finding home, there are these are the books that stand out for me: *The Family Nobody Wanted *by Helen Doss. Originally published in 1954. I bought a paperback copy of this memoir at a school book fair and read it until it fell apart. It is the story of a couple who adopt twelve "unwanted" children and bring them together to create a loving home.
*The Great Gilly Hopkins *by Katherine Paterson and *The Pictures of Hollis Woods *by Patricia Reilly Giff also share the theme-finding home with the people who love and care for you. ** *Three Times Lucky* by Sheila Turnage is the satisfying story of Miss Moses LoBeau who finds her home in Tupelo Landing.
*As Easy as Falling Off the Face of the Earth *by Lynne Rae Perkins, combines both themes for the month-it is at once a humorous road trip and the story of Ry who finds his way home.
