Has anyone mentioned JOURNEY TO JO'BURG by Beverly Naidoo?
This one is tense and superb. When little sister gets sick and Mma is far away from the village working in Johannesburg, the thirteen-year-old protagonist takes her lttle brother on a journey to get the only person they believe can save their little sister. This is set against the background of apartheid in South Africa.
