Two of my favorite audio books which are geared toward older, mature teens a nd adults, are:
"The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian," written and narrated by S herman Alexie. It is a heartbreaking and heartwarming story of teenager Arn old Spirit, Jr., and his high school experiences off the Spokane Reservation in Washington. The author's voice fits the 'nerdy' high school boy perfect ly.
"The Book Thief," written by Markus Zusak and narrated by Allen Corduner is a moving Holocaust story of a young girl living in Germany through World War I I.
