I think everyone must be trying to access ALA's list, because it's loading VERY SLOWLY. :)

Off the top of my head, a few of my all-time favorites include:

My Friend Rabbit (Eric Rohmann) A Sick Day for Amos McGee (Erin Stead) Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! (Mo Willems) -- honor book

One that I feel has stood the test of time: A Tree is Nice (Marc Simont)

And one that I love which has also stood the test of time is The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats; I remember being surprised when I found out that the au thor wasn't African-American!

 The Caldecott at 75!

We will devote the month of May to a discussion of the Caldecott Medal, whi ch is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Each week, I'll introduc e a broad theme or topic related to the Caldecott, but let's just start off with hearing from you about your general impressions.

1) What is your all-time favorite Caldecott medal book and why? 2) Which Caldecott medal books do you remember from childhood? 3) Which previous winners have stood the test of time? Which haven't

For more information about the Caldecott Medal and official 75th anniversar y events, please visit the ALSC webpage at: http://www.ala.org/alsc/caldecott75

Cheers, KT
