PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature: NYC, April 29-May 5, 2013 *Children’s Literature Panel: Braving Our Endangered World* *Saturday, May 4, 1:00 p.m. at The Public Theater.* With Loree Griffin Burns, Eliot Schrefer and Padma Venkatraman. Moderated by Andrew Revkin. A child's sense of wonder can provide the spark from which an activist will later grow. Writers for children and young adults show how people interact with nature, and reveal the world as a fascinating and ever-changing place with troubles all its own—rising temperatures, shrinking ice caps, and decreasing biodiversity. Adults and kids alike will be on the edge of their seats as three award-winning authors discuss the mystery of vanishing bee colonies, the habits of clever bonobos, and the endangered peoples of the Andaman Islands. For adults and kids ages 10 and up.

Presented in association with The Public Theater and co-sponsored by PEN Children’s and Young Adult Book Committee. Details and tickets at worldvoices.pen.org.
