Please feel free to share your children's and young adult literature-related announcements over the next few days on CCBC-Net.
After announcments the first few days of the month, we'll launch into our topic for May:
*CCBC-Net Celebrates the Caldecott at 75! *We're devoting the entire month of May on CCBC-Net to the 75^th Anniversary of the Caldecott Medal. We want to explore the award from a variety of perspectives, including:
* Caldecott Books: What are your personal favorites?Which have stood the test of time?
* Caldecott Art: We invite your thoughts on everything from styles and media to Caldecott books that broke new artistic ground (or at least helped blaze a trail) in literature for children.
* Social issues and the Caldecott:How well are multicultural artists represented among Caldecott books? What do you do with an outdated but popular Caldecott title?
* Sharing Caldecott books with Children: No, it's not an award for popularity. But whether you have experiences with mock Caldecott discussions or simply sharing Caldecott books in library story times, classrooms, or one-one-one, tell us how children respond to various Caldecott titles.
