Monica Brown and the fabulous Rafael Lopez have teamed up for two wonderful picture books to honor Latin music giants Celia Cruz and Tito Puente. They are: Me Llamo Celia and the recently released Tito Puente. Here's the link to the latter.
I'd also add Harlem's Little Blackbird: The Life of Florence Mills by Reneй Watson and illustrated by Christian Robinson. A great look at the Harlem Renaissance, racism, and the power of music. Illustrations are gorgeous.
