I am delighted to see a reference to the Horace Pippin book--which I found interesting (the book--not the reference). However, I e-mailed the author with a question of some small importance to me but have received no reply. Here's my question: in the book, Pippin is shown during W.W.I. But I needed/wanted to know if he was in a segregated regiment since most U.S. troops were segregated until Harry Truman's administration (after W.W.II)
Perhaps someone who reads CCBC (and who does not?) will provide a response to me.
Picture book or picture book biography should all be accurate.
