The Center for Children's Literature, Carthage College, Kenosha, is offering three exciting spring programs:

1) Amy Kirschke, Acting Director of Education at the Milwaukee Art Museum, will present "Sharing Visual Art with Children," focusing on how children's books help kids first learn to "read" pictures. The program is free and will be held in the Hedberg Library, Carthage College, on Tuesday, April 9th at 4:30pm. As space is limited, please call for a reservation: 262/552-5480 or email jstewig_at_carthage.edu.

2) The Center for Children's Literature at Carthage College welcomes children's book illustrator and author David Small, and his wife, children's book author Sarah Stewart, on Tuesday, April 16, at 4:30pm. Mr. Small, a Caldecott Medal winner and two-time Caldecott Honoree, will speak about his artwork and sign copies of his books during a social hour following his talk. The free event will be held at Carthage College in the Todd Wehr Center, Jockey Room A. As space is limited, please call for a reservation: 262/552-5480 or email jstewig_at_carthage.edu.

David Small's original artwork is on display in the Hedberg Library at Carthage College through April 19th.

3) "Wisconsin Women Write for Children" will be held in Milwaukee on Tuesday, May 14th, and will feature seven Wisconsin authors: Carole Barrowman, Ann Bausum, Lois Ehlert, Janet Halfmann, Barbara Joosse, JoAnn Early Macken, and Lisa Moser.
