So even though our primary focus is on literature, I wanted to share this blog by Vi Hart with her incredibly engaging math-concept vidoes. I was reminded of it the other day when my husband showed my daughter and me her "Thanksgiving dinner" series (in which she makes "math potatoes," and green bean "matherole" laid out in a variety of ways to explain vectors, among other dishes). (Yes, this is fun at my house, at least for 2 of the 3 members of the household. I'll just go back to my book now....)

My introduction to Vi Hart was her hexaflexagon videos. Search them on youtube or her blog. My brain so does not work like this, but it is so fascinating to watch her take complex math concepts and explain them in ways that are wholly engaging and highly entertaining, even if you don't completely follow....
