The Bank Street Center for Children's Literature has announced five Cook Prize finalists (awarded for the best STEM--Science, Technology, Engineering and Math picture book for third- and fourth-graders). Busy Builders by Roxie Munro How Many Jelly Beans? by Andrea Menotti, illustrated by Yancey Labat Infinity and Me by Kate Hosford, illustrated by Gabi Swiatkowska Ocean Sunlight: How Tiny Plants Feed the Seas by Molly Bang and Penny Chisholm Timeless Thomas: How Thomas Edison Changed Our Lives by Gene Barretta Click here if your school or library wishes to participate in the voting for the Cook Prize. Bank Street's CCL has also announced four Irma Black Award finalists (for the best read-aloud picture book for first- and second-graders). Big Mean Mike by Michelle Knudsen, illustrated by Scott Magoon Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs by Mo Willems The Duckling Gets a Cookie!? by Mo Willems This is Not My Hat by Jon Klassen Click here if your school or library wishes to participate in the voting for the Irma Black Award. Both awards are chosen by children.
