Thank you for sharing the APALA awards. APALA awarded Good Fortune in a Wrapping Cloth, my recently published picture book, as the winner in the picture book category. I appreciate the recognition for Ji-su's story of love and determination from APALA and your support in spreading the word about the chosen books.
I also want to thank all the CCBC discussion members for an engaging, timely, and serious discussion on Latino Picture Books: Where Have They Gone? With librarians, curators of children's literature centers, publishers, editors, teachers, and authors carrying on conversations about the importance of multicultural literature we know we are continuing to move in the right direction where children will see themselves in the stories they read. I look forward to these ongoing threads, your professional input, and engaging conversations.

I have seen discussion about the ALA awards for some categories, but I'd like to add that the APALA, which is affiliated with the ALA, grants awards to titles that "promote Asian/Pacific American culture and heritage and are awarded based on literary and artistic merit." Here is the webpage with their list of winners: nners
