Thank you for describing your program. I believe that taking advantage of opportunities to build multicultural opportunities into library schedules is extremely important in overcoming the very biases and fears which are being discussed here, and am constantly surprised at how many children's librarians in school and public libraries are not familiar with the Noche de Cuentos (Night of Stories) and Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los Libros (Day of Children/Day of Books) programs. When I ask about these events, many people think I am talking about Dia de los Muertas, which is why I get diverse responses.
