K.T. Horning's Caldecott series for The Horn Book

In the January/February issue of The Horn Book Magazine , HB Exec utive Editor Martha V. Par ravano announced a new series of columns recognizing seventy-five years of the Caldecott Medal. These columns will be written by CCBC Direc tor Kath leen T. Horning. Because she's too modest, she probably will not announce the series to the CCBC- Net community hers elf.
Martha writes that K.T. will "examine one winning book per decade
, f ocusing each time on a book that spo tlights the developing identity of the American picture book. K.T .'s inau gural column appears in this issue, beginning with the 1930s and Thomas Handforth's now nearly forgotten Mei Li.
