Hello, CCBC members--

A couple of months ago, more or less, someone expressed interest in seeing more translations of books published in other countries. I should have saved it, but didn't. In mid-November I spent a week in the West Bank, Palestine, for the launch of the Arabic translation of my book *Santa Claus in Baghdad and Other Stories About Teens in the Arab World, *which was most interesting; and I raised the question with the publishers, the Tamer Institute for Community Education. They would certainly be interested in having some of their books for children translated and available in the English-speaking world.

Could the person who wrote that message for this listserve be kind enough to get in touch with me? Or maybe we could (also) take it up in the "odds and ends of topics" period. Thanks for taking note of this.
