Another excellent book on this topic is HEROES OF THE ENVIRONMENT by Harriet Rohmer (Chronicle, 2009), which highlights the contributions of a diverse group of 12 environmental activists from many different disciplines, geographical areas, and backgrounds, each of whom is doing his or her part to preserve the environment. It was named one of the 10 best environmental books for children in 2010 by Booklist, was a Junior Library Guild Selection, and was co-sponsored by the NRDC.
