It's time to start our discussion for the first part of October:

*Civic Engagement: Books for Children and Teens to Promote Active Citizenship. *

This year, like every other presidential election year, librarians and teachers are on the hunt for books relating to elections and presidential politics. But the work of being an engaged citizen goes far beyond involvement in elections and voting (which also take place far more frequently than every four years). From titles that showcase activism to other forms of community involvement to dimensions of the political process, what books do you turn to when looking for ways to help educate young citizens on, and involve them in, many different kinds of civic engagement ?
