Hello thoughtful members of CCBC,

I'm write to you today about the book I LEARN FROM CHILDREN by Caroline Pratt, founder of small, progressive City and Country School (est 1914).

ILFC was originally published by S&S in 1948, reprinted in 1990 Harper, and now City and Country School plans to reprint the book for our 100th anniversary in 2014.

We plan to give the book a format refresh and are wondering what additions to the book would make it most appealing to educators and those interested in education. Some ideas:

- new forward - new afterward - educator essays addressing key sections the book - educator comments in boxed off sections embedded within key chapters - index - companion online video with teacher & staff & alumni reflections - companion website with the same and more - student artwork/illuminated letters as chapter openers - color photo insert

I wonder how many of you have read this book on progressive education. When did you read it? What were your reactions? Is it relevant today?
