Hello One of the best books on this topic that I have seen in a while is the tit le, It’s a Book! By Lane Smith. The interplay between the book loving cha racter and his techno hungry friend is fun to watch. I particularly love th e extract of Treasure Island translated in to text speak but what I love be st is the way the book draws the tech savvy one in to the reading experienc e so that he doesn’t move for hours.
There is a wonderful clip advertising the book on youtube but it does not s how you the whole book. For that you have to get your hands on a real one!

1. Technology IN the Book 2. RE: Technology and the Book

I think many of us are still thinking about and trying to figure out what the impact of technology will be on how we deliver books to young readers--and perhaps on the long-term options they have for reading them (will books be ONLY available in digital formats in some future time?) So let's turn our attention to the discussion topic for the second half of September:
*Technology IN the Book: /Press Here/! *How id digital technology in society---and in the lives of children and teens--reflected in
children's and young adult literature? From subtle and satirical commentaries, dystopic cautionary tales, and titles that offer up realistic looks at the ways children and teens interact and conduct themselves in a digitally connected world, what books do you think best reflect, or offer opportunities for reflection upon, our relationship to technology?
