Yes bring on the bibliographies supporting the common core standards so we can build our library collections, support those creating book rooms, and a ssist classroom teachers establishing classroom libraries.

 Book Awards

From the perspective of an elementary school librarian who tries to keep up with all literature levels -- the book awards help so much in suggesting g ood reads. I would have never read Charles and Emma (I LOVED it!) but for the awards. To "lock" up the lists of winners behind logins is counter to the whole purpose of the awards --- YALSA should be blasting them out in a

huge p.r. page -- But I am not a member there.

I am sure we are going to see a huge increase in non-fiction publishing for the school market with the adoption of the Common Core Standards across th e nation. Around 80% of the reading is suggested to be non-fiction. Schoo ls will probably be buying almost all non-fiction in the next few years ---

especially since we tend to go overboard with whatever the public is deman ding. Updating scientific related books will be essential. Bring on the s uggestions of great non-fiction!! There are some bibliographies to publish !!
