I was floored by Printz Honor book Nothing by Janne Teller. I used it as a required read in my YA Lit class and my students that first semester basica lly revolted! (Made me happy because it made for great discussion.) Despite their hatred of the book, it was the title that appeared the most on their final exam question "Which book made the biggest impact on you?" Kudos to the Printz committee that year for selecting it.
My other favorite Printz winners and Printz Honors are Monster, Speak, Stuc k in Neutral, Skellig, American Born Chinese, The Book Thief, Black Juice ( particularly the short story "Singing My Sister Down"), A Northern Light, a nd my favorite - A Wreath for Emmett Till - the writing achievement of the past decade.
