L.M. Montgomery's "Anne" (with an "e") of Green Gables" has friendships but she and Diana were--I can't recall how Anne described the friendship but I have it on a t-shirt (purchased on P.E.I.).
.And what about Jo March and Laurie? and Nancy and her chums?--but that's really not friendship--it's convenience.
Felix and Zelda ("Once" et seq.)
