You are welcome to continue sharing announcements about children's and young adult literature conferences and other events over the next couple of days on CCBC-Net.

Then we will turn our attention to the first of the two May discussion topics:

First Part of Month:BFF: Friendship in Children's and Young Adult Literature. Friendship is an enduring theme in books for youth. From tales of kindred spirits (e.g., /Bridge to Terabithia/) to group dynamics (e.g., /Harry Potter/), the ins and outs, ups and downs of friendship have been richly explored.During the first part of May, we invite you to share examples of what you consider memorable portrayals of friendship in books for children and teens. What titles stand out to you, and why?

Second Part of Month:Family Dynamics. Sometimes a book for children or teens perfectly captures a realistic slice of family life. Maybe it's a picture book that showcases authentic exchanges between babies, toddlers or preschoolers and their grown-ups. Maybe it's a novel illuminating the give and take (and sometimes love/ hate) dynamics among siblings. Perhaps it's a story that acknowledges how true feelings can be revealed in small moments of family life. During the second part of May, we'll talk family dynamics on CCBC-Net---what books do you think best convey

realities of relationships in families?
