An announcement perhaps of interest to all: IBBA (Independent Book Blogger
Awards) sponsored by Goodreads is conducting an awareness and competition for best independent book bloggers. One category is devoted to blogs about books for children and young adults. The list is quite impressive.
I invite you to check out http://www.readerkidz.com/ because as a contribut or I believe it can be a
useful tool for many of you on this listserve.
Readerkidz is a group of children’s writers, children's librarians, a nd
Child-Lit members who are also parents and teachers. We are devoted to
instilling a love of books in children, K-5, because we want to hook re aders
early.
We feature regular posts from children’s librarians Jeanette Larson and
Kristen Remenar. They write thoughtful essays, answer FAQs, and make bo ok
recommendations by theme and reading level. We also welcome essays from
guests. Contact us if you’re interested.
We are dedicated to the rich diversity of peoples, cultures and countries in
English language books and also feature downloadable teaching resources,
monthly author and illustrator interviews and bios, essays, and of cour se,
book reviews.
Last but not least, we’re competing in the IBBA (Independent Book Blogg er
Awards) sponsored by Goodreads and are stumping for votes (one click on our
home page under the mission statement). Thanks for letting us toot our horn .
