I enjoy using the story: One Lucky Girl by George Ella Lyon, 2000. It is a picture book and a true story. I'm guessing it may be the narrative we are talking about. I obviously have a lot to learn. Children and adults are often fascinated by this story of a baby who survived in a trailer that was carried away in a tornado without a scratch.

It feels especially relevant this week with the tornado that swept through my hometown of Harrisburg, IL. My family was narrowly missed in three instances with houses right next door swept into oblivion by the F4.

For Deaf Students, a the tangible with pictures is essential. Our next purchase will focus on non-fiction once weeding is complete. I would like to incorporate this topic in my knowledge base before any major purchase.
