Yes, and to take Kathy's response one step further, it's in reading multipl e picture book biographies of the same person that allow even primary grade students to hear the different themes at work and the various ways one lif e can be represented. In reading across these texts, gaps and omissions, th emes, and different points in a person's life can all be explored. If stude nts are "raised" from the primary grade on this diet of multiple books on a person, I think they will be ready for more complex biography explorations in the primary and middle grades.
