Blood and Gowns

I noticed recently the number of book jackets sporting either droplets of blood or flower petals that resemble blood drops from afar.
And, like the recent poster who pointed out the "headless girl" tendency, I also don't like the "disembodied pale-skinned arm" approach (which is often accompanied by the ever-popular blood drops...).
There's a lot of implied violence toward females in images lately, and I wish those who choose the jackets/covers would consider the impact it might have.
