From the chair in which I sit, anthologies and collections of poetry are not the same as an original work of poetry, and in some cases, the grunt work...clearing of permissions, etc., is handled by the publisher, and too, grants are sometimes given by the publisher for permission fees...please note I said "sometimes." Off hand, I cannot think of another award given by ALSC that is not for an original work and I do not understand why poetry should be any different. Norma Jean
