It is very sad. He died yesterday, Christmas day, in the morning from pancreatic cancer which he had been fighting for over a year. The good news is he got to go to Israel and London before he died, which had been dreams of his, and there was a retrospective of his work at the museum in Ventura in December which many of his old friends from the publishing world came to see. The retrospective will run through February. His grandsons were there on Thursday and he was able to read the beautiful letter that Oliver, age 11 wrote to him. Nelson had knitted him a scarf.
