I'm so glad you mentioned Ilsa Bick's new science fiction novel, Ashes. B ick is a child psychiastrist (really!) and Wisconsin author. No wonder her characters have such depth!! Her first novel, Draw the Dark, was a fabulo us book that flew significantly under the radar, even though Booklist named it one of the top ten science fiction/fantasy books of 2010.

Ashes is another great read!
