showcasing the best in picture book art.

Reading Pictures: The Artist’s Voice and Vocabulary in Picture Books

Monday, November 14th, 9:00am – 12:30pm

Society of Illustrators, 128 East 63rd Street

Three prominent illustrators, Marla Frazee, Stephen Savage, and Paul O. Zelinsky share their behind-the-scenes decisions and discuss their creative process. Art directors Laurent Linn (Simon & Schuster), Martha Rago (HarperCollins) and Cecilia Yung (Penguin) lead a gallery tour of the Original Art Exhibit for a close-up examination of the works on view. An optional lunch will follow, with an opportunity to chat informally with the illustrators and art directors. Moderated by Judy Zuckerman, Brooklyn Public Library.
