FLORENCE PARRY HEIDE died Sunday at the age of 92. Among her classic works was THE SHRINKING OF TREEHORN, illustrated by Edward Gorey, and THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR (with Sylvia Van Clief) originally published in l968, reissued with new illustrations by Holly Meade in 2003.
"A new friend is around the corner of every single day," she said.
May her books bring many new friends in the future.
