I have another recommendation for suspense: Tim Wynne-Jones's THE UNINVITED.
There may be a horror movie with a similar title, which made me a little leery of this novel. I don't care for horror or being so afraid that I have to read while peeking between my fingers. So I wasn't sure what to expect with THE UNINVITED.
There's something inherently spooky about being all alone in an isolated house in the country. I found this story of 3 late-teen, early 20-somethings suspenseful and engaging.
