Back in l977 (Gasp! Over three decades ago!) I penned my first novel, MAMA, available in paperback from Boyds Mills Press.
A story of a single parent who struggles to help her two young sons using whatever resources she can muster, including stealing, became quite controversial when first published. Within the last few years, MAMA is being used more than ever in all kinds of groups with children and adults.
The story is funny, yet poignant, with a message that: "Lovin' has the power to change things. It can change this whole, wide, sometimes confusin' world. And in the end lovin's better than stealin'."
