I apologize if this is a repeat title but I just wanted to add Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher to books on behavior. I am using this book as a brown bag discussion for a cross campus read this semester. It has sold out at the bookstore already even though the brown bag is not until the end of the month. The website and blog on this book are outstanding and youth are really expressing themselves on it. So many behavioral issues inside of this novel including mental illness that finally leads to the suicide of a teenage girl. This story is about a troubled teen that premeditates her death by recording a message to all she feels are responsible for her death. Asher did a remarkable job at reflecting teen culture with a novel that points fingers not just at the disturbing behaviors that are seen in some teens but also in some educators that need to be more insightful.
