The Butler Children's Literature Center is hosting a reception on Sunday, September 11, 2011 between 2:30 and 4:30 in the afternoon to welcome the community to our new, permanent space and invite them to engage with the Kinship Project, our inaugural exhibit. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, we have curated a collection of books for children and teens that speaks to our human kinship, as our way of remembering and paying tribute. All in the Chicago area (and beyond) are invited to join us. Examine the books and consider their messages. Visit with others who understand the power of books for young people to break down barriers and forge bonds. Raise a glass to the Butler Center, honoring our commitment to celebrate books for children and teens, motivate people young and old to love and share them, and perpetuate their gifts across generations.
We hope you'll join us!
