/Hudson Valley Magazine
On September 17, 2011, the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation will host over 45 revered authors and illustrators for an all day event celebrating children's literacy. From 11am until 4pm authors and illustrators of books for children and teens will be available to autograph their work. Barnes and Noble Booksellers will be on hand to sell the books. Proceeds from the sale of books will go to the library. Musical entertainment for young childrenfeaturing David Jack and Bossy Frog, as well as Manga drawing workshops for older kids with Misako Rocks!, will make this family friendly event a day to remember. The Festival will take place at Park Avenue School located at 10 Park Avenue in Warwick, N.Y.
In conjunction with the Book Festival, Village Merchants will host a whimsical "Children's Book Walk" to provide additional fun and entertainment for festival goers. The "Walk" book related window displays throughout Warwick's charming downtown and special fun related events in shops throughout the village. "The Children's Book Walk" is the perfect complement to a few hours spent with the talented authors and creative illustrators at the festival. Downtown Warwick is just a short walk from the festival and a lovely way for out of town visitors to see our beautiful village," noted event organizer and Library Director, Rosemary Cooper.
The Warwick Children's Book Festival is presented by the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation with generous donation from avid library supporters and Warwick residents Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes. Other community supporters include the Village of Warwick, Provident Bank WVT Communications and Park Avenue Elementary School. Details about the festival can be found at the library's website, www.albertwisnerlibrary.org or on Facebook, and a complete program will be printed and distributed by Strauss Newspapers in the 9/16/11 edition of the /Warwick Advertiser/.
