YA book recommendations for GLEE characters
Hi everyone:
I'm taking advantage of the open topic the first week of each month to send this post.
I'm a big fan of the TV show GLEE. So to get me through the summer reruns, I started thinking about how the high school featured on the show really ne eds a good YA librarian to recommend just the right book to the students th ere.
So I wrote a series of blog posts featuring book recommendations for a vari ety of the characters. With Season Three set to begin on Sept. 20 and many of the show's most committed fans going back to school now, I thought the G LEE book recommendations might make for a good library display. Especially if pictures of the characters were displayed next to the recommended books.
If you’d like to see which books I’ve recommended to some of the Glee c haracters, they are: (The links go to each recommendation's individual blog post.)
• Mercedes Jones -- Dramarama by E. Lockhart
• Tina Cohen-Chang – My Not-So-Still Life by Liz Gallagher.
• Santana Lopez – Sister Mischief by Laura Goode.
• Blaine Anderson – Pitch Perfect by Mickey Rapkin.
• Finn Hudson – Struts & Frets by Jon Skovron.
• Sam Evans – Guitar Boy by MJ Auch.
• Quinn Fabray – Beauty Queens by Libba Bray.
• David Karofsky – Dairy Queen and The Off Season both by Catherine Gi lbert Murdock.
• Rachel Berry – Theater Geek by Mickey Rapkin.
• Kurt Hummel – Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan.
These obviously aren't all the characters, and I do have recommendations co ming for the rest, but it's a good sampling of the cast. If you have books that you think would be good for GLEE characters to read, please let me kno w.
