Many of the series mentioned by others are also popular in Marquette. Additionally, our patrons check out Hardy Boys, American Girl, Tintin, Asterix, Pokemon (but not as often as previously), Gilda Joyce, Geronimo Stilton, American and Michigan Chillers, Judy Moody, Amelia's Notebooks, Pony Pals, Animal Ark, Fancy Nancy, Beast Quest, Secrets of Droon, Katie Kazoo, and anything Star Wars.

One sort-of series we love to book talk because it's our favorite is Hilary McKay's Saffy's Angel and the sibling books.

In my youth I, too, read Nancy Drew and the Little House books and remember telling my same-age cousin how these were the best books I ever read. His comment was always, "You said that last time." A confession: When I was little, we sometimes shopped at the first discount department store in our city. Our parents let my sister and I each pick out a book. I came to notice that Nancy Drews in a bin near the front of the store were less expensive than Nancy Drews in the book department. A couple of times, never letting on to my parents or sister, I switched price tags.

I still enjoy series books, especially mysteries and the Pink Carnation books, although I don't have time for very many of them. Perhaps when I'm in jail! :)
