As a child I was fascinated by the "Maida's Little ...... whatever" books. MAIDA'S LITTLE STORE, MAIDA'S LITTLE CAMP, and I don't recall others. Maida undertook these projects, ran into difficulties, opposition, and bullies, but somehow managed to make a success of them ... in a quietly determined way, as I recall. Does anyone remember these books? I won't specify the time period--you either remember Maida or you don't.
I also enjoyed, though I blush to admit it, THE BOBBSEY TWINS.
