I'm enjoying watching the next generation of readers discover Harry. My son is nine, and although (I admit) I've been pushing Harry Potter on him for years, he only picked it up in the last two weeks. Once he got started, he read all seven books! I envy him the pleasure of "marathoning" the series, when I had to wait year after excruciating year for them to be released. He had the luxury of reading straight through and seeing the characters develop in a matter of days. Some of us have had the same experience watching an entire TV series over a relatively short period of time, and we can understand the difference between the two ways of reading.
Go, Harry! And when is JK Rowling coming out with Hogwarts: A History, I'd like to know? If only....
