The Prime Minister's Literary Awards have just been announced.

The shorlists for the four categories (Fiction, Non-fiction, children's and Young Adult) are here:



The winners in the children's and YA categories are:

Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley (Young Adult) Shake a Leg by Monty Boori Pryor and Jan Ormerod (Children's)

I am delighted on both counts (I was on the NSW Premier's Literary Awards judging panel that gave the YA prize to Graffiti Moon this year) but I commend all the books on both shortlists to you: they are very strong lists representing the best writing for young people in this country.
