The NSW Premier's Literary Awards Shortlists have been announced. There are two categories for writing for young people: The Patricia Wrightson Prize for Children's Literature and the Ethel Turner Prize for Young People's Literature. The shortlists are here:

I was one of the judges on the Ethel Turner prize this year, and a jolly difficult time we had getting it down to these 6--it was a strong year for Australian YA fiction.'

Winners will be announced in Sydney on May 16, at a dinner at the Sydney Opera House. (Don't you all wish you could be there?!)
