It's been fun to see old favorites mentioned as well as finding books to ad d to my "to be read" pile. I just finished listening to the 2011 Odyssey Aw ard Winner, The True Meaning of Smekday, and the main character - 11-year-o ld Gratuity Tucci - is certainly worthy of being added to the list of very spunky girls. Tip, as her friends call her, never waits for someone to resc ue her, but always takes matters into her own hands even in the face of an alien invasion of earth. It's probably a book that's lots of fun to read wi th your eyes, but reading with your ears is an extra-special treat.
