Why the petition to Elevate Education?:
If you have ever gone to the The New York Times home page, NYTimes.com, and looked for the Education section, you may have noticed that it shares the s ame space with Classifieds, Corrections, and Crosswords (see www.nytimes.com , left column, midway down page).
Given the importance of education and the amplitude of the current discussi ons and debates in the field, we believe it deserves greater visibility.
If you agree that education needs to be elevated on NYTimes.com, please sig n the petition. It only takes 1-2 minutes to sign, and you can remain anonymo us. With your support, Education will share the same space with World news, Politics, Business, Technology, Health, Science, and Travel!
