Dear Ginny:
If Arnold doesn't get your message:
I interviewed Virginia when ZEELY was first published. Janet and Virginia were students at Antioch College. In the mid-60's when Janet was working at Macmillan, she recalled a short story Virginia had written at Antoch. The original tale called THE WEST FIELD became ZEELY. Janet and Virginia were lifelong friends...professional and personally.
I hope Arnold answers also.
Love-ness...
Lee

Today I'm claiming more than any one person's share of attention, but look at it this way. I waited until the end/beginning of the month to pipe up!
I remember hearing that Janet Schulman played a role in connecting Virginia Hamilton to Susan Hirschmann who was at Macmillan at the time. Arnold Adoff, can you step up to the mike and tell us more about that connection?
Margaret Mahy was one of the many international writers and artists brought to U.S. publishing by Margaret McElderry. Has anyone heard whether or not Margaret is OK after the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand?
Cordially, Ginny
