Hi everyone,

I don't usually promote my blog—partly because I don't attend to it often enough!—but I am in the middle of writing a series of posts in response t o a list of the 15 Australian books everyone should read, published last week i n the summer edition of the Sydney Morning Herald. (It's the time of the year when these kind of lists pop up, presumably because it's assumed we have more time on our hands to do some reading.)

The author of the list, Susan Wyndham, notes that she didn't include any children's books or poetry, as these would require their own list. So I hav e set about writing lists of the 15 Australian picture books, children's book s and YA book (15 per list) that everyone should read in order to get a sense of Australian culture.

*I'm actually still finalising my children's and YA book lists, so I don't expect them to be up quickly, but if the picture book list interests you, d o check back in next week for more!
