Hi everyone:
My 2010 favorites were: Stand Straight, Ella Kate, by Kate Klise. It's a wonderful, nonfiction picture book about a woman who grew to be 8 feet, 4 inches tall. The story is told in an extremely engaging way and everyone I've shared it with has been impressed. (A review is at: http://wp.me/pDio9-cg )
I also liked Waiting out the Storm by JoAnn Early Macken, a reassuring picture book written as a conversation between a mother and child. (Author interview at: http://wp.me/pDio9-a5 )
The Strange Case of Origami Yoda by Tom Angleburger was also fun. (Review at: http://wp.me/pDio9-cQ )
