I loved "The Last Summer of the Death Warriors" by Francisco X. Stork--even months after reading it, it still sticks out in my mind as a compelling and thought-provoking story. On the lighter side, "The Cardturner" by Louis Sachar was so much fun to read and even convinced me to start playing Bridge!
For middle grades, my favorite is "The Popularity Papers" by Amy Ignatow because it is such a realistic friendship story. For the younger audience, I really enjoy "Bunny Days" by Tao Nyeu--if you haven't read this one yet, definitely take a look at it!
