Good point, Sarah, but doesn't that only reach school-age kids?

The closest modern equivalents I've seen to Little Golden Books all seem to have some brand-name recognizable character like Dora or Disney's Cinderella. So I was wondering if there are just plain old picture books with good stories and decent art (like Margaret Wise Brown's the Golden Egg Book) that are available for sale in places like Target and local grocery stores?
